Privacy policy

The data controller is Slosh Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Privacy questions, data requests and complaints go to support@slosh.events and we answer within one month.

You don't give us your name, email or any account details. What we process:

• Your location — only if you allow it in your browser, or the town / postcode you type in. It is used to run your search and is not stored on our servers beyond the request. A town you type in is remembered on your own device so you don't have to retype it.
• Your search text — sent to our servers to understand what you're after. Queries may be processed by an AI language model to interpret them; the text is not linked to you and is not used to build a profile.
• A random device ID — generated in your browser and stored on your device. It is used only to enforce the search limit and to stop the same device reporting a listing twice. It contains no personal details.
• Saved events — stored only on your device. We never receive a list of what you've saved; your browser simply asks for the latest status of those listings.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on the discovery pages.

To post events you create an account. We hold:

• Your email address and a password (stored hashed — we can't see it), used to sign you in and to send account emails such as confirmation and password resets.
• Your organiser / venue display name and the listings you create, including images you upload.
• Your credit balance, subscription status, and payment and customer references from Paddle. Card details are handled by Paddle and never touch our servers.
• Moderation records — if a listing is reported, hidden or your account is suspended we keep a note of what happened and why.

Legal basis: performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in keeping Slosh safe and free of misuse.

• Hosting, database and email-delivery providers that run Slosh on our behalf, under contracts that restrict what they can do with the data.
• Geocoding services, which receive the address text you type (searchers) or the venue address (organisers) to turn it into map coordinates.
• An AI language model provider, which receives search text only, to interpret it.
• Paddle.com Market Limited (organisers only), our reseller and Merchant of Record, which takes payments, issues invoices and handles tax and refunds. Paddle receives your email address, name, billing country/postcode and payment details, and acts as an independent data controller for that purchase under its own privacy policy.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

We never sell personal data. Some providers may process data outside the UK / EEA; where they do, appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses are used.

• Expired one-off listings and cancelled listings are deleted automatically within days of ending.
• Organiser accounts are kept while active. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove it and your listings, keeping only records we must retain for tax or dispute purposes.
• Report and moderation records are kept for 12 months to handle appeals and repeat misuse.
• Data on your own device (saved events, remembered town, device ID) stays until you clear your browser storage.

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent.

Email support@slosh.events and we'll respond within one month. If you are in the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, to your local data protection authority.

Slosh is not aimed at children under 13 and organiser accounts are for adults only. If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll remove it.

We'll update this page if our practices change and update the date at the top. Significant changes affecting organisers will also be emailed.
